The answer to last week’s challenge is, Q: What famous cartoon character owes his existence to a misprint in a scientific journal?

A: Popeye owes his existence to the misprint. He was invented to encourage children to eat spinach, which was though to contain large amounts of iron. But this information was based upon an error in the journal. A decimal point had been put in the wrong place making the iron content of spinach appear 10x higher than it actually was.
